he began her show business career at age fifteen. She made her first appearance on television in the show El gran debut on the State cannel and since then she has been appearing on all the TV tango programs until now.

She has always paid special attention to her repertoire, by turning to the poems of Homero Manzi, Enrique Santos Discépolo and other great poets of the genre. Her voice and her technique allow her to include numbers of high emotional strength like “Tormenta” or “Los pájaros perdidos”.

She was part of the cast of the mythical Café de los Angelitos and turned out winner in the contests of Baradero and «Hugo Del Carril» of the Teatro San Martín, both in 1995. She appeared abroad and even performed at the Segundo Encuentro Internacional del Tango (Second International Encounter of Tango) in the city of Camboriú (Brazil).

In 2000 she joined the Compañía TangoX2, directed by Miguel Ángel Zotto, in which besides singing she has evidenced great composure on stage by dancing and acting. With that cast she made tours with the show “Una noche de tango” in Austria, England, Hong Kong, Italy, Switzerland and France and several seasons in Buenos Aires at the theaters Astral, Metropolitan, Presidente Alvear and Lola Membrives, among others.

With Las Cuerdas de América she appeared at important venues in Japan and the United States. She worked in the country and abroad when singing with the Compañía Boulevard Tango led by Cecilia Figaredo and with the company of the choreographer Laura Roatta in Brazil, Chile and Uruguay.

She joined the casts of the best tango venues in Buenos Aires: Esquina Homero Manzi, Esquina Carlos Gardel, Café de los Angelitos, Teatro Porteño, El Barracas, El Viejo Almacén, Taconeando, La Ventana, Piazzolla Tango and for nearly four years she has been appearing in the current casts of Cátulo Tango and Sabor a Tango.

On May 23, 2015 she started a tour of Japan with Andrés Linetzky and his orchestra.

In 2015 she recorded a new disc Celestial with the accompaniment of the Orquesta Ojos de Tango. Loyal to her style, for this disc she picked up a variety of classic tangos, a waltz and a milonga, among them: “Naranjo en flor”, “Como dos extraños”, “Malena”, “Caserón de tejas”.

Among the stages and a courtyard with wisterias, Cecilia Casado surprises us with her fresh, classic singing.
