artner of Benito Bianquet (El Cachafaz) for more than fifteen years and a good tango dancer, but without the gifts of his great friend, appeared alongside him in many evenings of Buenos Aires at the time when dancing and popular music were at a level that could not be forgotten.

By the time of those adventures it was that he came to know Carlos Gardel, who, with the passing of time, from time to time used to dine at the Yiyo’s restaurant, in the neighborhood of El Abasto, located on Guardia Vieja Street. During one of those dinners he offered the singer, among five or six other pieces, his tango “Tras cartón” for his songbook. El Cachafaz and Anselmo Aieta, who had composed the music, were there and agreed that the famous dancer would appear as the songwriter because he was then at a bad financial situation and so he would get some money with the recording Gardel was going to make of that tango; for that reason only “Tras cartón” was released with Benito Bianquet’s name. It was 1929, the best year for the tango history.

His first song was the tango “Picaneando”, in 1921, with music by José Servidio. A hundred more followed, among which there are hits like “Trasnochando”, “Señores yo soy del centro”, “Para mí lo mismo da”, “Barrio Norte”, “Cachafaz”, “Aléjate de mí”, “Mirta”, “Despedida de soltero”, “Tu suerte”, “El cocherito”, “A las siete en el café”, with music by renowned composers: Armando Baliotti, Ángel D'Agostino, Alfredo Attadía, etc.

He was president of SADAIC (Argentine Society of Authors and Music Composers) at a tumultuous time, in three successive periods.

From 1929 to 1946 he directed the Vida actual magazine and years later he managed the Pampa and Odeon record companies.

When the Carlos Gardel’s remains arrived in the early 1936, he said, among other things, in Vida actual number 37, February 1936: «Signs of deep sorrow were shown by all our people after the news of the tragic death of the first of our criollo singers. Because in the history of our popular music Gardel’s figure has stood out with so strong features that it was always associated to the most heartfelt expressions of us all when singing is concerned. The nuances he revived in the people with the notes of his last cadence not only did belong to the world of his touching beautiful voice but it was also the evolution of his extraordinary personal pleasantness. That feeling and personal charm expressed by the singer in each one of his interpretations reached our hearts irrepressibly».

Adamini was born in Buenos Aires (Palermo) on February 25, 1895 and there he died (Villa Pueyrredón) on April 21, 1969.
