mateur author. As he was cousin of Juan Bautista Guido (El Lecherito) he frequented the bohemian life of the then Corrientes Street, the narrow Corrientes. The customary place was the 36 Billares, a venue where the best popular poets used to meet and he succeeded in getting in touch with almost all the greats. He even came to know Carlos Gardel on some occasion, introduced by Guido, a great friend of the singer’s.

That environment, that so much attracted the young guys of that time and that so many songwriters forged, encouraged him to write four songs to which his cousin added music; the first one “Coquetita”, co-written also with Rafael Giovinazzi, was committed to record by Gardel influenced by his friendship with the musician; “Miniatura”, “Dólar”, the previous three are tangos, and the pasodoble “El gaitero”.

Enrique Iacobelli was born in Buenos Aires (Santa Rita neighborhood) on May 23, 1902 and there he passed away on December 3, 1973.
