he did not stand out in literature because she only published her poems in loose journals and if she released some booklet or book we ignore it. It is truly a pity being unable to deeply taste her oeuvre because the few things of hers that are known evidence a great talent.
Her poem
Flor de cardo
appeared in the number 52 of the El Fogón in the Uruguayan capital on November 30, 1899 was sung by
Carlos Gardel
. He sang its two first octaves and renamed it “
El cardo azul
” but added an octave of “Pobre flor”, an
estilo
he had recorded in 1913. Because of that «researchers» and collectors state that “
El cardo azul
” and “Pobre flor” are the same composition (We have to make clear that the third section of this
estilo
in the recording of 1919 does not belong to “Pobre flor”).
Canaveri was born in 25 de Mayo (Buenos Aires province) on November 22, 1881 and passed away in La Plata on February 28, 1945.
